FOR THE WAY OF THE GUN

"The score rules. It is used to powerful iconic levels in this film. Allowing the gunfire itself to play into rhythms... A classic action score. " Harry Knowles, AINT IT COOL NEWS.COM

"...the score is mostly simple, with scenes highlighted by oboe and timpani." Elvis Mitchell, NEW YORK TIMES

"Joe Kraemer's score is one of the best in recent memory, rich in classic film noir atmospherics, as it underlines this multileveled plot."  Desson Howe, THE WASHINGTON POST

"The score was especially great. " Wayne Fisk, ABC RADIO

"Powered by Joe Kraemer’s somber, Rosza–like score, Gun works best when its characters and their cars are posed against cinnamon-rock backdrops, their cell phones ever out of range of the world back home, as well as in gunfight scenes resounding with metallic reports." Steven Mikulan, LA WEEKLY

Joe Kraemer is a revelation. Like a bolt from the blue, he’s burst upon the film music scene with a score that’s haunting, beautiful, and sharp as hell. It’s got action, introspection, majesty—and Joe blends them together with a keen story-telling sense." Tony Buchsbaum, SOUNDTRACK MAGAZINE

"A relative newcomer to the film composing world, Joe Kraemer does a fantastic job of creating a dark yet intriguing score for the new action/adventure film The Way of the Gun." Ariane Buser, HOLLYWOOD.COM

"I highly recommend this stunningly impressive score from this relatively new face. The Way of the Gun will surely establish Kraemer as a much sought after composer in Hollywood today." MOVIEMUSIC.COM

FOR MONDAY

"Monday" is nicely shot by Alice Brooks, and one of the film's more interesting aspects is its score -- a set of confectionary pop numbers composed by Kraemer that the Loser listens to through a pilfered MP3. Those songs come dangerously close to being actual Carpenters classics, except that they veer off after a bar or two to avoid copyright infringement. Effect is one of inauthentic music being filtered through Loser's ineffective mind, and it's the highpoint of a film that would have made a decent short."  John Anderson, VARIETY

FOR MY BIG FAT INDEPENDENT MOVIE

"Even the music matches the take-off targets (hearing the hideous music that was meant to recall the treacly "Amelie" score was a bit too close for my comfort)."  Phil Hall, FILM THREAT

FOR OPEN HOUSE

"...it's when they enact their dreams as a series of role-playing fantasies (in a song, reprised several times, called "Do You Love This House?") that "Open House" comes alive with naive puppy love and boundless optimism."  Scott Foundas, VARIETY

"A film filled with interesting and hilarious songs about real estate that you won’t be able to get out of your head."  Jim Agnew, FILM THREAT
